Dropped Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh is likely to miss the rest of the Test series with Australia after hurting his knee playing football, a report said on Thursday.

Yuvraj collapsed holding his left knee while playing with team-mates before the opening session on day two of the ongoing third Test, the Australian Associated Press said.

The 26-year-old, who was sidelined for three months after injuring the same knee in 2006, was taken to a local hospital for scans.

Yuvraj is reportedly unlikely to be available for the fourth Test in Adelaide, starting next Thursday, and could also be in doubt for the subsequent one-day international tri-series starting early next month.

Yuvraj came into the series with a big reputation, but failed to deliver with the bat making 17 runs at 4.25 in the first two Tests.
